The fragrance of your silky hair – intoxicates
I close my eyes – and breathe deeply in
These moments I want to hold and never let go
I look into your eyes – and nothing else matters
The world disappears into oblivion
You and I – just the two remain
Unspoken words – stuck somewhere
The silence heavy – no words needed
We speak with our eyes, there’s so much said
Time stands still as we stand and gaze
Drinking in each other – dazed
There’s so much to say and so much unsaid
A bead of sweat glistening – trembling
On quivering lips so red
An unruly lock – flicked briskly away
A toss of slender neck – a shy smile
I gaze fascinated – absorbing it all
Etching it in memory - ne’er to be erased
Moments magical – never to be retrieved
As we forsake innocence at the altar of love
Hearts throbbing – pulsating
A hint of heady musk – and crushed jasmine
Pervades my senses as I lean further
And we move together – closer –
Thrashing and thrusting, needing
We rise together
While falling - deeply in love.

if there's ever a ghazal in English, this poem should be exactly that... lovely lilting stanzas.
